Parvathy Omanakuttan To Compete In Miss World 2008

Parvathy Omanakuttan will be representing India at the Miss World 2008 pageant on December 13, 2008. The Miss World 2008 pageant is being held at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa, which was originally scheduled to take place at Kiev, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing crisis between Georgia and Russia in neighboring South Ossetia, the pageant was moved from Eastern Europe by the Miss World Organization. Parvathy is 21 years old from Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala. Parvathy is the reigning Miss India World 2008 and on 5 April 2008 was crowned "Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2008". She has already been the Femina Miss India South 2008 and Miss Malayali 2005. If Parvathy wins, she will joins the likes of Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000) who have brought the crown to India.

Newcomer Harman Baweja is lucky to have a girlfriend like Priyanka Chopra.She supports him in every way possible. She bailed him out and did her best to make his debut movie 'Love Story 2050' work. Alas, that didn't work out and Harman's Hrithik aping too did no good for him.Now like a supportive girl friend Piggy Chops is set to do a sizzling item number in his next flick 'Victory'. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She'll be shooting for it early in the New Year.
Harman might not admit it but it seems he's shaken up by the fact that his extra expensive debut film bombed. The buzz is that there are no buyers for the flick.Maybe that's why he's so hopeful that the inclusion of Priyanka might help the film to sell.According to sources, "The film 'Victory' was facing some production hassles and now they are finding it difficult to find buyers, especially since the industry is also reeling under the impact of the recession in the market.Although the film is backed by Adlabs; they are having trouble selling it. That Harman's last film was a non-starter is also a factor. Distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price."The source further adds, "Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film.This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed." Well, that's what true lovers do. Support each other all the time. Bet Piggy Chops would agree. .

His two big films God Tussi Great Ho and Yuvvraaj flopped miserably at the ticket window whereas; his special appearance starrers Heroes and Hello were just about moderate successes.But finally the handsome actor has got a reason to smile! His Rumi Jaffrey directed God Tussi Great Ho also starring Priyanka Chopra is a big hit in the home video circuit!The film was a poor show at the box office all throughout India when it released on August 15th alongside Yash Raj's Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Bachna Ae Haseeno.It is now learnt that the film has very good DVD/VCD sales across the country since it was released by T-Series last month.Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif's Singh Is Kinng however leads on the Home Video market and the film is huge, probably one of the biggest success ever but it was expected from Singh Is Kinng as it was a huge hit and broke may records.The success of God Tussi Great Ho is a different case as it was rejected at the box office but the public is giving it a watch on Home Video.
